Also know as Kwei Hwa perfume, Martecci's Osmanthus perfume is a true delight.
Due to its scarcity, the osmanthus is seldom used in perfumery these days. And, until now, We have been deprived of its olfactory beauty because its use in aromatic creations is restricted to small quantities.
If you woudl do some research, you would find that Osmanthus flowers come from a Chinese evergreen, and in China, where they're used to scent tea, are known as Kwei Hwa. The fragrance is floral-fruity -- it's been described as a combination of jasmine with a suggestion of plum and raisins -- and very exotic. Evidently it spans the globe, as osmanthus scents are very popular in Europe and Australia as well. Fresh smelling and much like freesia.
Originating from China, this unique flower travels in traditional porcelain pots, though one may encounter its presence in a garden on the French Riviera. The tree is sensitive to cold weather and its sparse seed only germinates after two years of gestation.
The osmanthus flower blooms in autumn, and its refined fragrance travels far, touching the hearts of the Chinese with a soft sense of nostalgia. Its poetic refinement is depicted by a legend in which Wu Gang, the giant, driven by jealousy, repeatedly attempts to eradicate Osmonthe due to its pure floral redolence.
