Laura Ashley Perfume Reviews"I have to preface my review by admitting that I initially wondered if Martecci’s Fine Fragrances and its owner/chemist, Lance Snider, might be all hype. Pretty sad that a friendly, outgoing person who emotes is suspected before he’s appreciated; I hate seeing that I’m this jaded. Anyhow, all of these months later, I can say that Lance and his creations have stood the test of time. I’d be remiss to not post how extraordinary my experiences with him and his company have been. This man is talented. I bought three bottles of Laura Ashley No. 1 on Ebay soon before I learned about Martecci’s. Out of curiosity, and knowing that Laura Ashley or L’Oreal might never produce another bottle of Laura Ashley No. 1, Emma, or Dilys, I ordered one bottle of Martecci’s Laura Ashley No. 1 to compare to the original. While the perfume I bought on Ebay was surprisingly nice in light of how many years earlier it had been manufactured, it had weakened somewhat and was missing a few notes that Lance’s version included. His creation is brighter and fresher. Over time, I found myself grabbing the Martecci’s bottle first. Gradually, my Ebay bottles migrated to the back row of my perfume tray where they remain today. In my experience, designer [recreations] fragrances have been either so-so, generic, or awful. Lance’s version of Laura Ashley No. 1 is right on. When more and more people learn of Martecci’s and Lance, the company will have to move to a larger facility. Seriously, this man is that talented. He is also passionate. What I initially misread as an over-the-top sales pitch has proven over time to be pure, unadulterated enthusiasm. Lance clearly relishes the thrill of creating an exquisite fragrance or matching one perfectly, and he enjoys sharing his creations with others. His offerings are not inexpensive; however, if you love a long, lost fragrance and want an exact duplicate, this is the man for the job. Be sure to ask about his original creations. They, too, are lovely. Just this morning, I tried the Martecci’s version of Laura Ashley No. 3. It is gorgeous. I think I like it even more than Laura Ashley No. 1. Finally, I have to rave about Promise Ring, a perfume that I am still getting to know since I just received it today. I don’t think I’m being premature pronouncing it my very favorite of all the Martecci fragrances I’ve bought and worn. I don’t know. I keep sniffing my left and right wrists, trying to determine which of the two I love more: Laura Ashley No. 3 or Promise Ring. I guess it’s a tie at this moment, but Promise Ring is exquisitely different and may win by tonight! This is a real hit amongst ladies who loved Emma by Laura Ashley. 3) As to PROMISE RING, how can I state my opinion accurately? If you had to choose between EMMA by Laura Ashley or PROMISE RING, my guess would be that if you loved EMMA by Laura Ashley, you probably would NOT wear it on your wedding day. You would probably wear PROMISE RING. As I man, if I were to remarry, I would love to smell either scent on my bride, but I definitely would want to remember PROMISE RING most. 4)
